This very exclusive roll-neck sweater by Lacoste is made of the very rare 'baby Alpaca' which is more excluxive than cashmere. What is baby Alpaca? Alpaca. The gold of the Inca people. On the plateaus of the South American Andesgebergte, on 4,000 up to 5,000 meters altitude, the Alpaca's graze, indifferently for cold and extreme heat, only protected by their exceptionally strong fleece. The Alpaca's are shaved only once per two years. The wool of approx. 3.5 kilogramme by adult animal gives only one shipload of wool per year, this explains the high price. 'Baby-Alpaca' is first shaved wool of Alpaca and as a result, still more gently and still rare. The Alpaca's - the treasure of the Inca people - are carefully shaved, so they won't suffer from pain or cold. The thin Alpaca hair are surrounded by tiny, connecting scales. These reflect slightly and this makes it so shiny. The smoothness prevents that there will be wool wires. It is a luxury for years. Subject to stock being available! Available in 2 pretty colors.
